About This Site

LoganCountyMasons.com is meant to be a calloboration between the four Masonic lodges in Logan County, KY.  Those lodges are Russellville #17, Lewisburg #324, Auburn #374, and Gasper River #391.  The site launched in its current form in September of 2007 and we are currently working to improve the place as a whole.

Site Update PDF Print E-mail

I thought I would take a minute to show off some of the improvements to the site.

  • Updated RSS feed: you can now get a good, clean feed off of this site if you use a Feed Reader like Google Reader.  If you want to know what on earth I'm talking about, then click the "What's This?" link below the big orange icon to the left!
  • Masonic Links:  if you register with the site now, you'll be able to help us add a link compendium to the site.  Registration is free and easy, and with your help we can make this a great masonic resource.
  • Lodge News: I have the site set up now to organize articles/notes by lodge, so when you submit news it will show up under your lodge - because this site belongs to each lodge.

FOX's "Bones" does Widow's Son series PDF Print E-mail

The past several episodes of "Bones" on the FOX network have centered around a serial killer with some wild and varied influences of which the most talked about is Masonic.  Featured on the show have been the Square and Compass, Skull and Bones, and various other icons.

Last night, in an episode entitled "Intern in the Incinerator" most of the staff wanted to blame the same serial killer with the death of an intern, and by looking for a link came across the fact that the killer might actually be a Gormogon, someone who is "dedicated to the elimination of Masonic and Illuminati influence".

The usual hollywood creative license exists here. The scope and purpose of the Gormogons have been slightl exagerated.  You can read more about the Gormogons on the Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon

Back to Running the World... PDF Print E-mail

One of the many e-Masons out there in Cyberspace that I read regularly has made a very interesting entry to his blog that has stirred some discussion, and I just wanted to highlight it.

We'll get back to running the world after we read the minutes from last meeting and pay the bills!

Take a look at the article and the commens following.  It's a good read.

Blog Error PDF Print E-mail
I just realized that there was a typo in the RSS feed that is keeping the "Masonic Blogs" thing going over to the right.  I apologize for the several days of missing content.  It will work from now on.
