First of all, if you're wondering what a podcast is, just think of it as an amateur TV or Radio show that you listen to on your computer or on your iPod/MP3 player.
Now, if you're asking if there really is such a thing, then you're in luck! The Digital Freemason has been a podcast for nearly three years now. I just finished listening to "Lodge Number One" - a Christmas story of sorts - and I love that not only can I listen to these throughout my work day, but that I can then download the text later and share it with others.
Be sure to check out The Digital Freemason

I came across a post on From Darkness to Light , a Brother Mason's blog, and read about the Vacant Chair Degree that was performed at some lodges around Veteran's Day. This is the first time I have heard of the degree, but in case it is yours, I am uploading it here for your viewing pleasure.

One of our brother e-Masons wrote a nice little piece about wether or not Masonry is a charity in and of itself, or wether it's something more.
Give it a read: Is Freemasonry a Charity?

I thought I would take a minute to show off some of the improvements to the site.
- Updated RSS feed: you can now get a good, clean feed off of this site if you use a Feed Reader like Google Reader. If you want to know what on earth I'm talking about, then click the "What's This?" link below the big orange icon to the left!
- Masonic Links: if you register with the site now, you'll be able to help us add a link compendium to the site. Registration is free and easy, and with your help we can make this a great masonic resource.
- Lodge News: I have the site set up now to organize articles/notes by lodge, so when you submit news it will show up under your lodge - because this site belongs to each lodge.

The past several episodes of "Bones" on the FOX network have centered around a serial killer with some wild and varied influences of which the most talked about is Masonic. Featured on the show have been the Square and Compass, Skull and Bones, and various other icons. Last night, in an episode entitled "Intern in the Incinerator" most of the staff wanted to blame the same serial killer with the death of an intern, and by looking for a link came across the fact that the killer might actually be a Gormogon, someone who is "dedicated to the elimination of Masonic and Illuminati influence". The usual hollywood creative license exists here. The scope and purpose of the Gormogons have been slightl exagerated. You can read more about the Gormogons on the Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon |
